  • The restoration of the Meiji Era was from 1868-1912
  • Meiji means enlightened rule

​Effects of the Meiji Restoration

  • As an effect of the Meiji restoration the industrialization, meaning changing from a society that depends on agriculture, into a society that is an industrial society with the potential for growth.
  • Military power rose in Japan by 1905.
